While Hanc might be a quiet and peaceful village, it does not mean there is nothing to do.
You will be within easy driving distance of some of the most popular tourist attractions of the region but there are also some local activities like horse riding at the Écuries du Breuil or discovering to local wildlife at the Zoodysée de Chizé.

Les Écuries du Breuil
Just 5 minutes drive down the road from the gite is the local riding, the Écuries du Breuil. The girls having spent their childhood with horses and riding there, there is no way we wouldn’t recommend going for a ride out there. Joël and Caro, the owners and riding teachers will be more than happy to take you on a ride through the fields.
Futuroscope
Futuroscope is just over an hours drive away, near Poitiers. The 3rd theme parc in France when it comes to the number of visitors, it is full of technology themed attractions. Don’t hesitate to visit their website, it has all the latest information.
Vallée des Singes
The Vallée des Singes is a bit different from traditional zoos. As the name stats, it is a nature parc with only monkeys. Some of the furry residents live loose on the parc and come and sit on your shoulder (or pinch your picnic !). The kids are bound to love it !
The Zoos
There are many zoos in the area for you to visit. The biggest is the Zoo de la Palmyre by the sea side near Royan but a lot closer is the Zoodysée de Chizé specialising in european animals.
